My Books
The Fado of Forgotten Streets
Fiction
In the narrow alleys of an old port city, a young woman follows the echo of a distant fado to uncover a family secret carried across the Atlantic.
Salt and Saudade
Poetry
A lyrical collection that drifts between New England winters and Azorean summers, tracing the taste of salt on the tongue of memory.
A Terra Entre Nós
Fiction
Spanning three generations, this novel follows a family rooted in both Lisbon’s hills and a mill town in Massachusetts, where the land between them is measured in letters.
About the Author
I write in the space between two shores — born to Portuguese immigrants and raised in the noisy light of the American northeast, my work drifts between tiled streets and mill towns, between saudade and belonging. I carry the cadence of fado and the hum of highway traffic into every story and poem, listening for the places where languages touch and transform one another.
On the page, I am always looking for the quiet, ordinary rituals of diaspora life — a pot of caldo verde on a winter stove, a grandmother’s rosary tucked into a glove compartment, a suitcase that never quite gets unpacked.
Letters to My Readers
A quiet newsletter of new writing, behind-the-scenes notes, reading recommendations, and small dispatches from both sides of the Atlantic. No noise, no rush — just one more letter across the water.
